The video is online now! Awakened Voices Literary Magazine presented the 10th issue of their online literary magazine, Intention for Change, completely online last week and I was honored to be one of their featured artist.
This means that I had the opportunity to read my poem in to 100 people from the comfort of my home office and now you can watch the video. The whole event lasted just 46 minutes, so you can watch it all, or fast-forward to 24:56 to watch my introduction and reading.
This issue examines the internal intentions that can begin to spark change in an individual or community. The artists of Issue 10 explore intentions for personal change, shifts in perspective on past actions, changes in perception of their physical self, and shifts in the way they perceive the choices of others. Readers are invited to challenge their understanding of the past and reexamine the possibilities that lie ahead.
“Intention for Change Virtual Launch Celebration,” YouTube, May 2020
The organization held their virtual launch celebration for Intention for Change at 7 p.m. May 22.
I enjoyed getting to meet the young women who manage the nonprofit on a daily basis and who did an amazing job of promoting and producing this completely digital event. I hope you enjoy this recording of the celebration, which features statements from the Awakened Voices editorial team and readings from Issue 10’s featured artists.
