I woke up from an early morning nap today to discover that I'm this week's featured writer in Awakening Art's Artist Spotlight!
I want to share this with you all because “It's Not Your Fault” is a poem I wrote in response to a tragedy in my family. It's hard to write about such things and it took me months and many tears to be able to pull these words out of my heart and put them onto paper.
But telling our stories is so important, not only for our own healing, but also for others who have experienced similar situations
I encourage you to not only seek support and know you're not alone, but also to write and share your writing to help support others. This is so important — and especially for our kids who are dealing with this pandemic and whatever other situations they may face in their lives.
